Pytch Featured in Italian Computer Science Education Book

We’re delighted to share that Pytch has been mentioned in a brand-new Italian computer science teaching book, published by Rizzoli Education and authored by Giuliana Barberis and Emil Dari.

This recognition is particularly meaningful because it comes from educators who are deeply committed to improving computer science teaching across Italy. Our Ph.D. student, Sara, had the pleasure of meeting Giuliana at ITADINFO, the national conference on computer science education in Italy. She has been incredibly supportive of Pytch, not only highlighting it in the book but also promoting it in interviews. You can hear her talk about Pytch with real enthusiasm in this interview. Her support and encouragement mean a lot, and it’s wonderful to see her championing innovative tools for teaching.

Why Pytch Matters in Education

Learning to code isn’t just about preparing for future jobs in technology, but it’s about developing problem-solving skills, creativity, and logical thinking. Pytch allows students to experiment, build games, create animations, and bring their ideas to life, all while learning one of the most widely used programming languages in the world.

For teachers, Pytch provides a powerful classroom tool that’s easy to integrate into existing curricula. Because it builds on concepts many students already know from Scratch, it lowers the barrier to entry and helps teachers guide learners through more advanced programming topics step by step.

It’s exciting to know that through the mention in this Italian teaching resource, more students will get the chance to discover programming through this creative and supportive approach.

Thank You

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Giuliana Barberis for her encouragement and support, and for helping introduce Pytch to a wider audience of teachers and students in Italy. Her recognition, along with the publication by Rizzoli Education, is an inspiring milestone for our project.
